The Thing About Fake News

Here’s the thing about fake news: It’s orchestrated by the left. Take any major news network, sans FOX News. The likes of ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, CNBC, PBS, NPR, etc. all lean to the left, some the far left. They all favored Barack Obama’s presidential candidacy over Sen. John McCain and Gov. Mitt Romney in 2008 and 2012, respectively. They all favored the presidential candidacy of Hillary Clinton in 2016. Sure, they gave Donald Trump air time in the primary season, just like they did with McCain and Romney. That’s because their plan is to push the Republican candidate they feel the Democratic candidate can easily beat in a general election.

Aside from presidential elections, however, the leftist media, also known as the mainstream media (MSM), takes part in demonizing the right through their news “reporting.”

This is how it happens: The right uncover some damning evidence of impropriety on the part of the left. The left then have the MSM spin the whole thing to make it look like there’s nothing to see, which the MSM is more than obliged to do, in turn making the right, conservatives and/or Republicans out to be taking part in a “vast right-wing conspiracy” and trying to take down the left for reasons of gaining power and asserting their morality over others.

In 1998, for example, then President Bill Clinton was found to have used the Oval Office as his personal sex room. Who doesn’t remember “Monica-gate?” That was when Bill Clinton took an interest in 23-year-old White House intern Monica Lewinsky, who in turn performed sexual acts on the president in the Oval Office. Independent journalist Matt Drudge, who had recently founded a website called the Drudge Report, broke the story which became national news.

Well, the MSM downplayed the story on their beloved president until they couldn’t anymore, since recordings between Monica and another White House staffer Linda Tripp surfaced. The recordings revealed Lewinsky admitting to Tripp of her affair with Clinton. Instead of condemning the affair and the president’s immoral behavior, the MSM condemned the successful attempt to get Monica to admit to the affair via secretly recording her. This is how warped the MSM’s priorities are.

Another example of the leftist media demonizing the right is the Clarence Thomas hearings. Because President George HW Bush-nominee, and federal court judge at the time, Thomas was conservative on most issues, the left did everything they could to sabotage his appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court. They went as far as to find someone who worked under him to push a false story that he was a sexual predator. With no hard evidence the MSM reported in a way that made Thomas look like a creep. It didn’t help that Thomas is black, and blacks don’t like black conservatives.

This is all standard operating procedure for the left. They try to cover up pertinent stories that make them look bad even when they can’t. Then, months later when everyone has forgotten, because the media is that good at the cover-up game and spinning stories, more evidence surfaces, they’re caught red-handed and forced to admit impropriety. The MSM then does what it can to save face, although we all know they have absolutely no credibility in the first place. Scapegoats are assigned and they go on with the next stories. The right, conservatives and/or Republicans are vindicated but nothing changes because many voters don’t even pay attention to the news and such important and imperative matters, and the left, liberals and/or Democrats keep winning elections.

More examples where the left and the MSM have tried to cover up the truth include Benghazi, Fast and Furious, Solyndra, the IRS witch hunt on conservative organizations and countless other scandals all worthy of key figures being recalled, impeached and/or imprisoned. If the MSM actually reported accurately and fairly the political scene would unquestionably be a lot different.

The Audacity of Misunderstanding Hope

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, and in an attempt to deride the reality of President-elect Donald Trump’s victory, soon-to-be former First Lady Michelle Obama chided “Now we’re feelin’ what not havin’ hope feels like.”

As Oprah donned a pair of pseudo-intellectual black-framed glasses and hung on Michelle’s every word as if she were speaking with the utmost profundity, Michelle continued: “Hope is necessary. It’s a necessary concept and Barack didn’t just talk about hope because he thought it was just a nice slogan to get votes. I mean, he and I and so many believe that if you, what else do you have if you don’t have hope?  What do you give your kids if you can’t give them hope?”

There’s a lot that can be said in response to that very misguided diatribe. First off, the claim that hope is necessary is debatable. What is it necessary for? Is it necessary to get a job, for instance? That is, is it enough to just hope for a job? Shouldn’t a person prepare and have certain skills in order to get a job? Hope really means nothing in that regard.

Secondly, Mrs. Obama claims that her husband didn’t just use the term hope as a campaign slogan in order to get votes. Well, the evidence speaks differently. Once in office, hope didn’t pan out too well. Not once in the Obama administration that I can remember did he offer assurance to those who live in inner city communities that hope was alive. Not too great for a community organizer, Obama’s former job before entering into politics.

Finally, the First Lady posed the question “What do you give your kids if you can’t give them hope?” Well, I can think of a lot of things. You can give them a stable home life. You can give them support and encouragement. You can prepare them for adulthood by not telling them that hope is all that matters.

What is it with hope that it consumed a huge part of the Obama presidency and why did they rely so heavily on it? Can hope improve the economy? Can it create jobs? How about opportunities? Can it create a climate of success, personal, business or otherwise? Does it do anything to help small business owners operate their businesses in a less-intrusive and less-regulated manner? Isn’t hard work and determination supposed to achieve that?

Let’s be clear, man cannot live on hope alone. More to the point, a country can’t operate, survive and thrive by relying on hope. It’s a false doctrine that fooled a lot of Americans. Yes, Obama used it as a slogan to gain votes. No question about it.

There is a general misunderstanding with the concept of hope. Obama used this misunderstanding to his advantage and gained the presidency. He offered hope, but hope doesn’t work for people. A person must do the work to earn the reward.

The implication was that people would have hope and that alone would make them realize their dreams. Apparently, to many people their dreams are to be able to live off the government with little responsibility. Furthermore, they also believe that someone else is supposed to foot the bill for their laziness. Obama encouraged this thinking by his support for wealth redistribution, a socialistic concept.

The last eight years have been a waste of America’s time and money. What did hope have to do with that?

Immigration Policy in a Trump Administration, Part 1

two-sign-tom_800x482

President Elect Donald Trump won the 2016 election primarily on one issue: immigration. Sure, there were other issues that were important to voters, such as trade, repealing Obamacare, jobs and the economy, among others. Additionally, sending a non-politician, an outsider, a businessman to the White House certainly had major appeal. But it was the issue of immigration that catapulted his campaign and drove him all the way to victory.

Now that he is headed for the White House, how will he achieve what the majority of the country wants? How and when will he secure our borders, on all sides? How and when will he begin the process of deporting illegal aliens? How and when will he go about defunding sanctuary cities? How will he deal with the companies that hire illegal aliens? In short, what will immigration policy in a Trump administration look like?

Past efforts to tackle this problem by past Congresses have been fruitless. Why? Because amnesty has usually been attached to any proposed legislation. They package it with the euphemistic title of Comprehensive Immigration Reform.  I’ve been saying for years that we don’t need “Comprehensive Immigration Reform.” We need “Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement.” Reform implies that the law needs to be changed and the system needs to be transformed into something different.

Which begs the question: Is there really something wrong with our immigration system?

No. There is only something wrong with the way we enforce our immigration laws (or don’t enforce them). Whenever immigration reform is on the table legislatively and there’s a national discussion about it at the political level it’s utterly insulting. It is a mockery and I’m offended that our so-called leaders choose to sell out 1) our heroes who fought for this not to happen, 2) those who spent the time and money to come here legally because they wanted to be Americans, and 3) all of us who have been paying taxes our entire adult lives. Yes, they tried to sell us out and in essence said, “Your concerns don’t matter. It’s these 20-30 million illegals who we care more about.”

A comprehensive immigration reform law isn’t even a law. It’s not a law that punishes bad behavior; it’s a law that rewards it. It doesn’t keep people from entering our country illegally, it allows it. What sense does this make? The only law we need where immigration is concerned is one that mandates that we secure the border, all U.S. borders, Canadian and Mexican.

Shame on all of the politicians who lent their support and voted for any amnesty plan disguised as “reform.” Let’s make Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement the hallmark achievement of the Trump administration, which would say that all illegal aliens need to be repatriated to their home countries. Their offspring? Well, it’s unfortunate, but I’m afraid they must learn to accept that their parents did a very bad thing to them. They cheated America, put their children in jeopardy and need to be punished.

And finally, maybe Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement means working with other countries to take back their citizens and charge fines for the inconvenience Americans have suffered. Maybe then this whole mess will be on a course toward being resolved. When people know that America is going to be serious about illegal immigration, they won’t be so quick to challenge us.

Oppositism

Democrats and the left wing media have recently made “fake news” an issue and their excuse as to why they lost the election. Twice-failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton stated that “fake news can have real world consequences,” obviously alluding to her defeat. “It’s a danger that must be addressed and addressed quickly.” She also said that it’s important that both private and public sector leaders “step up to protect our democracy and innocent lives,” as if our democracy and innocent lives are being threatened by fake news. This coming from a person who lied about landing in Bosnia under sniper fire and who lied about a YouTube video being the cause of the attack in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012, which she still hasn’t been prosecuted for.

Well, our democracy and innocent lives are being threatened by the mainstream media’s (MSM) ability to foist their fake news on us. Former NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, who was fired for delivering fake news and lying on national television, “reported” on MSNBC that “fake news played a role in this election and continues to find a wide audience.” He further claimed that most of the “fake news” came from Breitbart, a conservative news outlet. There’s one word used to describe the fake news the left and MSM pundits constantly inundate us with: Oppositism.

What is Oppositism? It is a word I coined to describe the tool the left and the MSM have used for a very long time. Moreover, it is a psychological manipulation they have incorporated into their daily agenda as a way to brainwash the public into thinking what is not true actually is true.

One example of oppositism includes the phrase “You didn’t build that.” President Obama said it and it’s the opposite of the truth, but people believed it. It is more than evident and obvious that there are some men and women in today’s private sector that, through hard work and determination,  actually have built companies, organizations and foundations that have done more for people than government could ever do. Obama and the left want you to think, however, that only government can do for you what you actually can do for yourself.

Perhaps the best way to experience oppositism is to listen to Obama speak. At a graduation ceremony in May of this year Obama spoke to an outgoing class of 2016 and stated that they will go out into the world with the best opportunities awaiting them than ever. This is simply foolish and a huge lie, but another example of oppositism.

Obama and his compliant MSM have continually repeated the ridiculous notion that women don’t make the same wage as men. This, too, is a proven falsehood. Women do make as much as men when one calculates hours men work versus hours women work. In some cases women do make less than men but that is a comparison of what men do versus what women do. Men commonly go to work every day and put in more hours whereas women typically take time off to have babies and raise families. So the idea that women make less than men is merely an intentional confusing statistic and another form of oppositism.

Issue after issue is lied about by leftist politicians and the MSM. The left’s prescription of gun control to eliminate senseless murders, for example, is the exact opposite of what really needs to be done. Instituting a policy of responsible gun ownership and defense, enacting a legal right to conceal carry as well as eliminating gun-free zones would help decrease senseless murders. But each time there is a murder spree, whether it’s on a college campus, an elementary school or a movie theater, the left takes to their bought-and-paid-for bully pulpit to preach gun control. It is exactly what they preach that causes these senseless killings.

According to the left “hate crimes” are committed by the extreme right. There is no proof of this and they know it but they get away with saying it. In fact, in many cases hate crimes are staged by left wing activists. In 2007, for example, Madonna Constantine, a Columbia University professor, hung a noose on her office door and reported it as a hate crime. A few years earlier Kerri Dunn, a Claremont McKenna College professor, spray-painted racial slurs and slashed the tires on her car, and then filed a false police report. In a 2012 incident Eco-terrorists set ablaze and vandalized dozens of SUVs at several southern California auto dealerships. These are not the actions of the “extreme right.” The hate is on the left.

The asinine notion that Republicans, Right Wingers and the Tea Party are terrorists (and bigger terrorists than real terrorists), which leftists have proclaimed, is also an example of oppositism. Indeed, Tea Party rallies end with attendees cleaning up after themselves and leaving the place cleaner than it was when they got there. That can’t be said for Democrat rallies and leftist protests. Just look at the grounds of a Democrat rally site immediately after one of their events.

There have been people on the left, Rosie O’Donnell and Tavis Smiley, for example, who have made the ridiculous claim that Christians are bigger terrorists than Islamic terrorists.

More recently the term “Hands up, don’t shoot” became a mantra of the Black Lives Matter movement and the left. This slogan however, is based upon a lie. In the infamous Michael Brown shooting, where a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri was forced to shoot Michael Brown after Brown threatened the officer’s life, one witness claimed to have seen Brown put his hands up and say “hands up, don’t shoot.” Many other witnesses reported differently and forensic evidence shows that this was a blatant lie. The media, however, was all too happy to continue the lie.

Republicans are constantly being portrayed as people who hate blacks, Mexicans, Hispanics, and whomever else when it is the policy and programs of Democrats that continue to hold them back.

The left claims that voter ID laws are racist. No they’re not. They are the opposite of racist. The objective of voter ID laws is to keep those who are not allowed to vote from voting. This includes illegal aliens, felons and cheaters. It is widely known that illegal aliens have managed to find ways to vote in United States elections. It is also widely known that some people have been able to register fictitious persons so they can use their names to vote. There’s nothing racist about voter ID laws but something very sinister about anyone who would oppose them.

Names of left wing organizations also fall under the umbrella of oppositism. For example many Democrats refer to themselves as progressive. But their aim is to move the country in an opposite direction from where it should go. Take the names of some left wing organizations: The Center for American Progress, Think Progress, MoveOn. They are all progressive movements but do anything but progress America toward positive change.

These are all examples of oppositism the left has tried to get us to believe. Unfortunately, they have all too often been successful since many uninformed and misinformed people buy into the lies they tell. With this theme of fake news currently running through the MSM, the left is finally being exposed for their hypocrisy.
