Lies the Media Tell and Get the Public to Believe

It’s no secret that the media is in the tank for the Democrat party and will do whatever it can to put the left in power, even if that means willfully lying to the public. It’s easy for them to get away with lying because many Americans have been indoctrinated by academia, Hollywood and the media. Unfortunately, as outrageous as some of these lies are, it’s difficult to disprove them once they’ve been told since the low information constituency blindly goes along with most everything the media says.

Here are a few lies that the media have told and people still believe despite the overwhelming amount of evidence disproving these lies.

Bush lied, people died. Both politicians and the media have said that Bush lied about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction (WMD), or that he lied his way into war. No, he did not lie. He was taking the word of 19 intelligence agencies that said that Saddam Hussein had WMD. Opponents will say he went to war to steal oil. Again, not true. We never got any oil out of the war. The first thing that oil-rich countries do when war breaks out is burn their oil fields, plants and refineries.

To the argument that the US was in Iraq for anything other than to fight and win a war against a country whose leader was in fact storing WMD, retired army general and former defense secretary Colin Powell stated that “the only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.”

People also made the claim that GW Bush started a war to avenge the assassination attempt on his father George HW Bush. This claim has never been proven.

Hands up, don’t shoot. Another lie the media tell, or exacerbate, is the lie started in Ferguson, Missouri regarding the incident with Michael Brown, where Brown robbed a convenience store and roughed up its owner, then after being confronted by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson and struggling to grab his gun, he was shot as he continued to threaten Wilson’s life.

When bystanders were asked about the incident, one liar stated that Brown had his hands up as if he was surrendering to the officer. Again, not true as this has been proven false by the Obama Department of Justice as well as the Ferguson District Attorney’s office. But because the media seem to be an opponent of law enforcement and generally take the side of criminals and anything that seems popular at the moment they will easily ignore the proven facts and continue to perpetuate the lies.

Women earn less money than men. This is a case of picking and choosing which statistics to believe and report so that it suits the Democrat party. As economist Thomas Sowell has written about extensively, the difference in pay between men and women is the result that women work far less hours than do men. Women take time off to give birth and raise families so it’s not that women earn less per hour necessarily, but that they end up making less since they work less. This is a statistic those in the mainstream media don’t want you to know because it would blow their narrative right out of the water.

It should be mandatory for journalists and reporters to clarify and underline the truth in cases like these. Irresponsible journalism should be met with harsh penalties and compromised credibility.
