Ideology Over Identity

In a recent “man on the street” survey conducted on a university campus, millennials expressed that they are fond of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and support his decision to put his name into the proverbial hat of Democratic presidential contenders for 2020. However, many expressed that he is too old and feel the next president should be a woman, and if at all possible, a woman of color. In other words, not an old white man. But Kamala Harris fits the bill.

This very issue was a point of contention in the 2008 presidential election when, unfortunately, Barack Obama was elected. It is never important that we elect the first black president or the first female president or the first minority president. What always matters is that we elect the best person for the job, no matter the race, gender or identity.

But in 2008 more Americans elected the first black (well, half black, half white) man over an old white man. And as is usually the case when Americans choose identity over ideology, Americans lose on so many levels.

In 2016 Americans expressed their distaste for the status quo, for the same political rhetoric of career politicians and for the wasteland that is government. They wanted someone different so they elected Donald Trump. For two years, even as the resistance, hate media and anti-Trump machine have tried to derail the presidency, things have changed for the better and there is still work to be done.

The ideology of the Trump administration, for the most part, is preferable to the identity politics so many Democratic contenders are peddling. Americans still want ideology over identity in 2020.

This is Why We Call Them the Fake News

Sure, they hate it when people call them the “fake news” but the so-called mainstream media (MSM) has more than earned its reputation. If they were honest and sought out the facts, if they weren’t prone to jumping the gun, and if they reported stories fairly, maybe they would be the credible institutions they claim and are supposed to be.

If they weren’t out to hammer President Donald Trump for any little thing he does, says or tweets, if they weren’t eager to find fault with anyone on the right, and if they didn’t describe every person who has conservative viewpoints as an extremist, on the far right, or ultra-conservative, maybe they would be trusted.

If they didn’t deliberately try to disrupt press conferences by being belligerent, badgering the press agent with ridiculous questions and making unfounded accusations, maybe they’d be taken seriously.

If they let go of their animosity toward this administration, maybe they wouldn’t be met with the president’s scorn. If they stopped harassing Republican officials, maybe they’d be treated with the same courtesy the left treats them with. If they were respectful, maybe they’d be respected.

But all this seems like a fantasy. It’s hard to imagine such a scenario when two reporters claim in an article at BuzzFeed that Trump ordered his former lawyer Michael Cohen to lie to congress about negotiations regarding building a Trump Tower in Moscow, then special investigator Robert Mueller issues a statement clarifying the article as “not accurate.” That’s what happened when Jason Leopold and Anthony Cormier “reported” the fake news in an attempt to justify the left’s desire to impeach Trump. It’s completely dishonest and that any media outlet would run that story is outright irresponsible.

It’s also hard to think that the left could make any progress toward being respectable when they take a situation and deliberately turn it around to portray a leftist activist as a victim at the hands of pro-life rally attendees. Last weekend a group of young teenage boys from Covington Catholic High School made the trip from Park Hills, Kentucky to take part in the March for Life rally in Washington D.C. Their offense: they were pro-life and donning “Make America Great Again” baseball caps. Several media outlets aired selected footage of the boys appearing to be acting hostile toward Nathan Phillips, a Native American Indian, while he was beating on a drum. It’s not what happened, however.

Aside from Phillips claiming to be a Vietnam veteran, which was later proven false, among other statements he made, the boys were the subjects of intimidation and vile verbal insults by another group calling themselves the Black Hebrew Israelites (BHI). To avoid confrontation, it seemed, the teen boys observed Phillips as he beat on his drum and were not hostile in any way. It was Phillips and the leftist hate group BHI who were hostile toward the group of Catholic high school students.

The fact that any individual or group could become unhinged by a hat that says Make America Great Again signifies that the problem is with those who are easily triggered and unstable, not with those espousing a patriotic sentiment.

Instead of waiting to find out what really happened, the MSM and many others including celebrities, commented about how wrong these teens were after viewing just a snippet of what took place. Without first getting the facts, these teens were besmirched by the left and even some on the right.

It’s one thing for individuals to express their disgust with what they think happened, it’s quite another for those in the field of journalism to report on a situation they don’t fully understand. Even worse, knowing the facts and not reporting them but reporting something completely different, as some did, is the epitome of irresponsible journalism. Those who do this are devious, should be held accountable and face severe repercussions.

I’m sure most of the MSM were there to report negatively on the event that goes against their collective values. Not only is it not offensive to take a stand for the pro-life cause but it is perfectly reasonable to take that position. It is also within a person’s First Amendment rights to do so.

Shame on the MSM and all others who got it wrong and wanted to cast these teens in a negative light. This is why many people refer to the MSM as the fake news.

Don Lemon Plays the Race Card. Will CNN Let Him Off the Hook?

CNN opinion host Don Lemon played the race card in a very disgusting manner on Monday night. On fellow CNN opinion host Chris Cuomo’s show, Lemon stated that “we have to stop demonizing people and realize that the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them. There is no travel ban on them, there is no ban on, you know, they had the Muslim ban, there is no white guy ban. So what do we do about that?”

How about practicing what you preach, Mr. Lemon? If we need to stop demonizing people, why did you just demonize a broad range of people, white men? My guess is that it’s “white men” who pay your salary.

In a sane world Lemon would have been castigated and ostracized by his employer, colleagues and community then sent directly to the unemployment line. A message would also have been sent that this rhetoric is not tolerated. But in this heated arena of Trump Derangement a reprimand or condemnation is a bit too much to ask.

This is not an isolated incident and the double standard is clear. Anyone knows what would happen if a white conservative media figure said the inverse. It will be very telling should Lemon still have a job by the end of the week. Based on inflammatory remarks made by his colleagues in the past, he probably will.

The liberal media is living out their fantasies vicariously through reality. They say what they want to be true, report what they imagine should happen and think everyone believes them. “News” outlets like CNN and MSNBC have become institutions of absurdity. What passes for fact is actually make-believe and their so-called reporting is laughable. It’s conspiratorial nonsense steeped in vitriolic hatred for President Trump, Republicans and especially conservatives.

Don Lemon and his cohorts are willfully fooling some, doing a disservice to this nation and making a mockery of journalism. This is why Trump calls them out on their lies and deception. It’s about time a Republican fought back.

Five Weeks and Counting

It has been five weeks now that I have gone without watching any NFL games and I’m at the point of not being able to care less. But I do care about what many players are doing to divide this country.

When Colin Kaepernick started his “protest” last year by kneeling during the national anthem, he said something to the effect that he doesn’t feel proud of this country when there is police brutality against blacks and racial injustice when white police officers are not going to jail for shooting and killing unarmed blacks. Soon after these comments were made many players followed suit and joined him in kneeling during the playing of the national anthem before games.

Most fans of the game saw this as disrespectful toward the flag, the national anthem, the country and especially toward those who serve and have served in the military. Common sense doesn’t seem to get through to these players as they claim they’re not doing it to show disrespect but to protest certain injustices, as well as President Donald Trump.

Whether or not they see it as such, it’s blatantly and undeniably disrespectful. It is a lie to suggest otherwise.

When I see entire teams taking part in this “protest,” I can’t help but think that many if not most of these players just simply don’t know the facts or they’re just going along to get along. But by kneeling during the national anthem, not only are they showing disrespect, they’re alienating fans and costing teams and the league an enormous amount of revenue.

With the platform NFL players have, they could easily form a coalition and conduct a press conference to address their grievances, no matter how misguided they are, and start a proper discussion about what they’re concerned about. The media would surely give them ample airtime and valuable print space.

I’m open to a national discussion on police brutality and racial injustice. I think the country is also open to it. Prove to me that police brutality and racial injustice are systemic in America and I’ll be on your side. But if you can’t prove it, you run the risk of showing your ignorance, losing credibility and further dividing this country.

Be Careful What You Tweet – How Pro Athletes and the President Can Make Amends

As I sit down to write this article, I do not know if things have changed in the NFL as regards the kneeling of professional athletes, coaches, owners and other staff during the National Anthem performed at each respective football game. Last week I boycotted watching any game and heard about the Pittsburgh Steelers’ disgraceful act in choosing to stay in the locker room, which adds insult to injury. Admirably, Alejandro Villanueva, who served our country as an Army Ranger, took the opportunity to come out to the edge of the corridor, where the players enter and exit the field, and honor the flag, placing his hand over his heart as the national anthem was played.

The “protest” that week, many say, was about the comments President Trump made at an Alabama rally earlier in the week when he asked the crowd “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say ‘Get that son-of-a-bitch off the field right now. Out. He’s fired.’” With the exception of the term “son-of-a-bitch” he chose to use, those comments expressed exactly how most Americans feel about the lack of respect for our country’s flag and national anthem many players displayed.

By denigrating the flag, the national anthem and the country, these players are alienating fans and would-be fans from watching anything that has to do with the NFL. In doing so the NFL’s ratings will decline, ticket sales will decline and fans will become hateful to anyone and everyone who joins this “protest.”

Their anger is misdirected. One shouldn’t protest against police brutality and racial inequality by taking it out on the flag and the national anthem. That is very ignorant and exactly the wrong way to handle any situation. When the NFL’s ratings, ticket sales and merchandise sales decline, it will be their own fault and those players, coaches and owners who joined in with the spoiled and overpaid brats will be the ones responsible for the decline of the institution many Americans love.

In another episode of professional athletes protesting President Trump, Golden State Warrior and NBA champion Stephen Curry tweeted that he would not be attending the White House ceremony his team was invited to. As a gesture, championship teams are commonly invited to the White House to be recognized and to celebrate their NBA championship. Trump responded by tweeting back that Curry was disinvited. Cleveland Cavalier Lebron James injected himself into the twitter war by calling the president a “bum.”

In responding to a question about how he felt when he read Trump’s tweet, Curry stated that “it’s just kind of beneath a leader of a country to go that route…it’s not what leaders do.”

Lebron James also stated in a press conference that Trump “doesn’t understand the power that he has for being the leader of this beautiful country…doesn’t understand how many kids, no matter the race, look up to the President of the United States for guidance, for leadership, for words of encouragement…this is the most powerful position in the world…we are at a time where the most powerful position in the world has an opportunity to bring us closer together as a people and inspire the youth.”

There are certain points that these players make about Trump that are indeed true. It’s hard to defend the president when he uses choice words in his own speeches. However, there is an opportunity here, a way to make amends. If Trump would be willing to extend an invitation to Curry, James, Colin Kaepernick, Aaron Rogers, and others who have taken a stand on this issue, to discuss their concerns, and if these players will accept that invitation, maybe they can all act like mature adults and address ways to improve race relations and make the country better for all.

It’s unfortunate it has come to this. But again, it’s an opportunity. Since President Barack Obama did so much to divide this country with comments he made, Trump has an opportunity to reach out, reverse the damage Obama did and restore this country to how it should be. After all, he campaigned on making America great again.

Reject the Notion of White Privilege

There’s a fraudulent movement that’s been circulating for a few years now. It’s called “white privilege” and it’s a myth. It is based on the assumption that white people are born privileged since they have no frame of reference about what a person of color goes through on a daily basis. Sure, a white person doesn’t share the same experiences a black person does, but the flip side is that a person of color doesn’t necessarily share the experiences of a Caucasian.

It’s all really quite silly. On the surface it appears to be an excuse for those who have a chip on their shoulders to feel victimized. But this only serves to hold back the supposed victim from acting on any aspirations and reaching any goals that person may have.

It’s a lie that all white people are privileged. Moreover, it’s an insult to white persons who were born under bad circumstances and live with stigmas of their own. It’s simply unfair.

It’s understood that a black person might feel scrutinized for being black through no fault of his/her own. The same, however, can be felt by a white person, or a Hispanic person, or someone who is Asian or any number of other races or nationalities.

The black person who feels harassed for being pulled over by a traffic officer may feel that way due to his being black. But law enforcement officers generally don’t always know the race or ethnicity of drivers when they’re pulled over.

Obviously this could be easily taken to a deeper level and expounded upon, but to do so might legitimize the issue as if it needed the extra attention.

The fact is that we are all human and should treat each other as such, without biases and prejudices. Those who subscribe to this notion of white privilege are the ones who fan the flames of racism. By definition, racism is the belief that one race is superior to another. By suggesting that “white privilege” exists is to allege that white people actually feel superior to other races innately. This is a wrong presumption and does nothing to advance society. But then again, victimhood is contrary to the advancement of society.

Anyone who is not racist must reject the notion of white privilege. Any reasonable person of any color, race, ethnicity and nationality understands that “white privilege” is just an attempt by one race to belittle, demean and lie about another. We must shut down those who would seek to advance this ridiculous idea.

Show Me The Racism

By now we have all heard about the cries of racism at several universities across America. This latest wave started with an accusation at the University of Missouri where the student government president made the allegation that a white student yelled the n-word. Another allegation was made that a swastika using human feces was drawn somewhere on campus, although there was zero proof and no evidence to support that claim. With all the cameras that come standard on even the cheapest cell phones, surely there should be multiple photos proving this incident occurred, right? Well, there were none and this accusation should have been laughed right out of the administration’s office and off campus. But it wasn’t.

With an air of epidemic racism concocted on campus, a student by the name of Jonathan Butler, whose parents’ net income is around the $40 million-per-year range, then staged a hunger strike in protest of all this unproven racism. Backed by most of the Mizzou football team, a campus group which calls itself Concerned Student 1950 created a list of ridiculous demands including University President Tim Wolfe’s resignation. They then proceeded to take over the campus quad area and carve out a “safe space” reserved only for black students. Wolfe, presumably, was targeted because he hadn’t done anything about the perceived racism. But he shouldn’t have had to since there was no evidence of any.

At Claremont-McKenna College in Pomona, California, dean of students Mary Spellman resigned under pressure from a group of activists who had protested on issues of campus diversity. In one incident, Casey Garcelon had become so offended at a few students’ Halloween costumes and posted photos of them on a Facebook page. The photos showed some students wearing costumes deemed insensitive to the Mexican culture. It very well may be that only one person, Casey Garcelon, was offended, causing her to post the photos, resulting in others jumping onto a bandwagon of racial protests, which happens to be chic on college campuses as of late. However, being offensive is subjective. It’s possible that those donning the “offensive” costumes had no intention of being offensive at all. This is a lesson Garcelon should learn.

At Occidental College in Eagle Rock, California, students took over a part of a campus building and issued their own list of ridiculous demands such as President Jonathan Veitch’s immediate resignation and the removal of the Los Angeles Police Department from campus.

It begs the questions, why are students allowed to overrun the faculty and parts of campus? And since when do students get to make demands? Even more disgraceful is the fact that some professors joined forces with the students, as in the case at Mizzou. Many professors want desperately to be seen as relevant or liked that they are willing to compromise their careers by looking like foolish activists.

Students have a right to have their issues addressed and can present their cases to their respective administrations. The administrations can then 1) explain to the students what steps they will take to rectify the situation, or 2) agree to work together toward a solution, or 3.) explain to the students why their grievances make no sense and warn them that any civil disobedience by students will result in harsh penalties not favorable to them.

If students still decide to defy the administrations after such warnings, they can expect to be suspended or even expelled. Surely the organizers of the protests should be expelled. Students are at school to study, not to be offended. Certainly students can protest but there are limits and guidelines to follow.

The University of Missouri football players who took part in their protests should have had their privilege of playing on a football team revoked, as well as their scholarships.

Professors, on the other hand, who take part in protesting with unruly students, effectively shirking their own responsibilities to be in class teaching, should receive immediate discipline. They should be dismissed and it should be documented on their permanent records making it nearly impossible for them to ever teach again. The problem is that most liberal professors will probably hop on over to their next favorite liberal university where they will undoubtedly be welcomed with open arms.

University of Missouri President Tim Wolfe should have stood up to the protesters and refused to step down. Further, he should have admonished their unruly behavior. Dean Mary Spellman from Claremont-McKenna College had already apologized for the way she had communicated to a small group of students. She should have explained to the students that there is a right way and a wrong way to deal with diversity in the real world. She should not have stepped down. President Jonathan Veitch at Occidental College should have had the LAPD forcibly remove all the protestors who took part in the unlawful activity at that campus. He should have made an affirmation that he would not be intimidated and not comply to their asinine list of demands. He, too, should not have resigned.

Unfortunately, those administrators caved in to the demands of the students and allowed them to overrun their campuses and administrations. It was a show of extreme weakness on the part of those school officials. The students got their way and academia has suffered because of it. This is what has happened to many of America’s universities.

Read Between the Platitudes

At a White House summit on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 designed to address issues of countering violent extremism, one would have thought Obama’s hand was forced. Finally, he’ll have to openly deal with this very obvious problem. He can’t escape the blaring fact that ISIS is a threat as well as Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood and others that have the same common denominator – they are all radical Islamists. But Obama couldn’t muster up the will to say it. It begs the obvious question.

In his address, which was a cross between a campaign speech and a lecture, Obama managed to dodge what was supposed to be the whole point of the dog and pony show, I mean summit: countering extremism. He instead turned it around and focused his comments on racial hatred and discrimination against the Muslim community. Are you kidding me? There is no great epidemic of discriminating against Muslims. Where does he get that?

Well, he manufactures it. Since he cannot bring himself to confront the ugly truth, that radical Islam is at war with the West, he re-directs the conversation into this supposed widespread racial discrimination of Muslims. So by stifling any discussion of real world problems, the kind where ISIS et al rape, torture, traffic, behead, burn and kill Christians, Jews and anyone else who is not on their side, Obama is able to escape an obviously uncomfortable topic.

From any other president it would be surprising, except with Obama, it is expected. He has not been able to admit what the real problem is. As Greg Gutfeld explained on FOX News’ political talk show The Five, which aired that same day, “He’s a terrorism denier.”

That is, in fact, what he is.

Obama managed to insult most Americans, as if we’re the problem and others we are at war with are victims. Clearly, as a United States president, his speech was the opposite of what it should have been. And with an audience most likely stacked with his own hand-picked supporters, there were countless interruptions of mindless applause.

But did anyone expect anything different? As Obama usually does with his speeches and addresses, he peppered this one with just enough platitudes to make those who don’t know better feel good. To the average American, I suppose, it sounds inspirational. But for a speech designed to address countering extremism, he admonished those who are genuinely fearful and concerned with the threat of radical jihad here in America and abroad.

When does it become necessary for our Armed Forces to intercede and remove him from the responsibility of President of the United States? I realize it would set off a firestorm, but I also know that what has been happening is so treasonous that it warrants expulsion from office.

Congress has been of no help. In fact, calling Obama out for his dereliction of duty has been one of its key failures. They have neither the leadership nor the desire to do what they are sworn to do. They haven’t even entertained the idea that in order to reverse the destruction he has already done to our country they need to act. It will take a special kind of courage, which few members of Congress have. Surely they would have to withstand the scourge of hate and vitriol the left is going to spew. And of course the left will try to turn the argument around.

Yes, the leftist media and liberal organizations have a habit of taking incidents that look bad for them and reversing the facts to make it look as if extreme right wing ideology is to blame. It’s called projection. Because the facts don’t fit their version of the story, they just make up their own and guess what? People, mindless people, mind you, believe them because these mindless people are too lazy to find out the real story for themselves. Obama employs this tactic quite often. It’s how he got elected and how he continues to deceive people.

Ferguson is Ablaze While the Mainstream Media Fan the Flames

A decision has finally been reached in the Michael Brown case where an 18-year-old black male was shot by Darren Wilson, a white Ferguson, Missouri police officer. At a press conference held Monday night, November 24, 2014, the evidence, both physical and testimonial, was carefully and explicitly laid out by St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McColloch, clearly showing the facts of the case. Based on those facts there was no probable cause to indict Officer Darren Wilson. As could have been predicted several months ago, the result of a grand jury investigation was that this was a justifiable shooting death.

Not according to the mainstream media and race agitators, of course, who are ready to swarm on any situation that involves race.

Prior to laying out the facts of the case, McColloch had essentially chastised the media for hastily reporting what were not facts, but merely what “witnesses” conveyed they heard on the streets and in the area.

After the prosecutor had finished announcing the findings of the investigation, he took questions. The room was filled with overzealous reporters and journalists who willfully ignored the facts and insinuated that the officer was wrong, negligent, or worse, racist, in the shooting death of Brown, whom they describe as “unarmed” when in fact he was armed with his fists. By the questions they asked it was like they had heard a completely different story of what happened. That’s because many of them have conditioned themselves to believe what didn’t happen.

Protesters also refuse to accept the facts of the case. Their minds are set. To them there is no justice. They want their own form of justice: rioting, vandalizing and looting their own community. Well, they should have to suffer the consequences of their actions and live in that downgraded community they created for themselves. To not see what is so obvious is to their detriment because they’ll never dig themselves out of a hole with so much anger, hatred, and resentment weighing them down.

Not surprisingly, there have been demonstrations and protests in other major cities around the country. Those protesters are just as angry, hateful and resentful of what they mistakenly perceive as racial injustice. Some people seem so eager to join the crowd and adopt the mob mentality that a statement needs to be made through violence, arson and thievery. To be fair, not all protesters are rioting, vandalizing and looting. Many are peaceful, however misguided.

The Brown family issued a statement immediately following the announcement that they are profoundly disappointed with the decision. That’s understandable. Most people would sympathize with any parent who loses a son or daughter. I sympathize, as well. It’s unfortunate, however, that their disappointment is directed toward what they perceive as an unjust system in Ferguson, not accepting that their son committed crimes which led to his own death.

From the onset of this whole ordeal, race hustler Al Sharpton and race card player Attorney General Eric Holder injected themselves into the situation, arousing the emotions of not only residents of Ferguson, but the country as well. That’s what they do best.

Barack Obama was also vocal about the incident at the beginning and the end of the investigation. Addressing the nation last night he echoed calls to protest peacefully, encouraged a discussion about the issue of race and asserted that there are real circumstances where black people feel discriminated. It is past time to have a discussion, a civil one, about race. Unfortunately, based on his deliberate effort to racially divide the country, Obama is the last one to head that discussion.

***

What led Michael Brown to attack and assault Officer Wilson, I presume, is the problem he had with authority. I suspect that this young man had several altercations, verbal or otherwise, with law enforcement officers in the past. Maybe it all boiled up at that moment when he became enraged and forced Officer Wilson to act and defend himself. Clearly this was an incident in which Officer Wilson couldn’t disengage.

Isn’t there a reporter with enough courage to report the facts, that this incident is due to the bad behavior of a six-foot four, close to 300 lb., young man who had just terrorized a convenience storekeeper after helping himself to a handful of cigars, and then attacked and assaulted a police officer who was doing his job according to policy?

It’s time for people to wake up and accept that what happened is not that a white police officer shot an unarmed black teen for absolutely no reason, but that a teen criminal attacked a police officer, causing the officer to go on the alert and defend himself.

The protestors (many of them, anyway) – they don’t want justice, they want revenge.

The so-called reporters and journalists – they don’t want to believe anything other than what fits their narrative.

For the parents and family of Michael Brown, I hope they are able to find peace and comfort. I hope they will eventually see things for what they really are, not how the usual race dividers want them to be seen.

So-called civil rights leader Al Sharpton, Eric Holder and others fueled the fire of racial hatred and division while a complicit mainstream media fanned the flames. And now Ferguson is ablaze. Let’s hope sanity prevails.

Obama and Holder Miss Opportunity to Educate Country on Racism

Not that I think they can educate the country on anything substantial to America, much less the issue of racism, but President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder have missed an opportunity to set the country straight on what is right and what is wrong as regards the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial. Since they have rejected what is right for America for years, and continually do what is wrong, why should anyone expect them to be able to educate the country?

Shortly after this story broke, President Obama injected race into it by stating that if he had a son, he would look like Trayvon. Not only is it unbecoming of a U.S. president to take a position on an issue the country is divided on, it is clearly not his role to form opinions and announce them via his bully pulpit. In fact, it is unethical.

As America’s top attorney and a key player in the Obama administration, Holder’s advice to America should be to accept the jury’s decision. Instead of expressing his personal disdain for the verdict, he should explain that George Zimmerman received a fair trial and was found not guilty. Further, he should reject the notion that this case was about race. By not doing so and not making certain facts clear, he helps divide this country when it so desperately needs to unite.

Also complicit in persuading the country to see things Obama’s and Holder’s way are the mainstream media (MSM). They have continually reported this case as if the reason Trayvon was shot was because he was black, when there was absolutely no evidence of that being a motive. Since they had no such evidence, NBC went so far as to edit an audio clip of a phone call Zimmerman made to police so people would believe their false narrative that racial profiling was involved.

Because the MSM have a captive audience that believes hook, line and sinker every word their news outlets “report,” much of the country get biased and mis-information. The Zimmerman case did not fall into the category the MSM wanted it to, so it did what it does best: slant the story.

Race-baiter and false accuser Al Sharpton, always ready to exploit a grievance, also put himself in the middle of this controversial story and, not surprisingly, played the race card. He has made a career of assigning race as a reason for his community’s woes. Most notably, he accused the NYPD of raping Tawana Brawley, a young teen at the time. The case was a total fraud, yet Sharpton remains free to roam the airwaves and spew his hatred toward white America.

***

Anyone who bothered to follow the Zimmerman case and view the courtroom proceedings was able to see the prosecution fail miserably to make a case for racism being a motive for Trayvon’s death. Rather, they saw evidence that showed George Zimmerman being an assertive neighborhood watchman trying to keep an eye on a suspicious looking person who was walking through the neighborhood in the rain. They also saw evidence that showed Trayvon as the aggressor who instigated a physical fight which he initially got the better of by punching and slamming Zimmerman’s head onto the pavement. Pictures of Zimmerman’s broken, bloodied nose and lacerated head were entered as evidence.

Unfortunately, many people didn’t bother to follow the case, view courtroom proceedings or make sense of the evidence which clearly showed Zimmerman acting in self-defense. Instead they saw pictures of a sweet-looking 13-year old Trayvon Martin, and with the help of the MSM, developed the opinion that a black “unarmed child” was shot by an evil “white-Hispanic,” whatever that is. So when the jury went into deliberations and came back with a Not Guilty verdict, many people were outraged.

In the wake of the Zimmerman Not Guilty verdict, the cries of racism can be heard all across the country as non-reasonable and irrational people take to the streets to protest and riot. These people have willfully ignored the facts of the case, some in order to satiate their desire to fuel hatred for a perceived wrong-doing. Some have even bottled up their angst for several years and now is the perfect time for them to let it all out.

And again, Holder and Sharpton are there fanning the flames of racism. This case had nothing to do with race until Obama, Holder, Sharpton and the MSM injected race into it. Yes, the MSM attempted to frame it as white against black, giving the usual suspects an opportunity to sell race as a motivating factor, ultimately to drive sympathizers to the Democrat party. These are the tactics of the left: Get them mad and tell them you’re on their side.

When a white person, truly motivated by race, shoots and kills a black person, I’ll be the first to stand side-by-side with blacks and others and fight for justice. But it’s real racism I’ll fight against, not perceived racism. Obama, Holder, Sharpton, the MSM and others used race to manipulate people and stir up their emotions, and in the process missed a real opportunity.
